High Or Low Out Of The Bunker Onto The Green

To give a low shot with some run to the green, play the ball back in your stance and with limited follow through.To give a high shot which stops on landing,play the ball from in line with your front foot,and with a high follow through.

Uphill Bunker Shots

If your ball lies uphill in the bunker, swing normally with your sand wedge having set your feet firmly for balance,your shoulders parallel to the slope,your ball a little behind your left heel, and aiming to contact the sand a couple of inches behind your ball.

Downhill Bunker Shots

If your ball is lying on a downslope in the bunker adjust your aim to hit the sand further back behind the ball than for a flat lie. Also open the blade less than you would do for a flat lie.

Not Much Sand Depth Where Your Ball Lies In The Greenside Bunker

Normally you would take a sand wedge to play your shot out of the bunker. Where the sand depth is shallow select your pitching wedge instead.
